Easy Vegan Hot Chocolate

A cup of pure chocolate vegan healthy delight.

Ingredients

12 oz non-dairy milk

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

2 oz dark chocolate

1/4 cup date syrup OR maple syrup (less depending on your sweet tooth)

Pinch of cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cornstarch

Optional toppings:

Vegan marshmallows

Vegan chocolate chips

Cashew cream

Instructions

  1. Pour all the ingredients except the cornstarch into a saucepan.
  2. Bring to the boil, whisk well so any lumps dissolve as the mixture warms.
  3. Measure 1 teaspoon of organic cornstarch into a small bowl, add a tablespoon of the chocolate mixture to the cornstarch, and stir well to combine. Pour back into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Allow to simmer for a minute or two. Pour into a large cup (or 2 small!) and enjoy.
